But Lamborghini takes the high road — both literally and figuratively — by hosting its Winter Driving Academy in the stunning alpine town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, just south of the Austrian border.

Sports cars tend to tout horsepower numbers and 0-to-60 stats, but the new Subaru BRZ is all about handling. Co-developed with Toyota for its Scion FR-S, the BRZ weighs in at only 2,762 pounds. (That’s more than 90 pounds less than a stripped-down Porsche Cayman R.) Subaru’s flat-four engine contributes to its stump-like center of gravity, putting its 200 horsepower down through old-school rear-wheel drive. The world can always use another cheap (around $25K, anyway), elemental sports car, and that’s why the drift-ready Subayota is one of the most hotly anticipated cars of 2012.
