Marty Reisman’s table-tennis career may have peaked 60 years ago, but as Mark Adams learned in our April 2012 issue, that hasn’t stopped him from traveling the globe, chasing women, and hobnobbing with celebrities. You can read all about Reisman when the issue arrives March 9.

These five watches will never go out of style. Period.
Designer Max Bill’s minimalist watch for Junghans is unchanged from its 1962 specs and powered by a Swiss-made automatic movement. It’s an unimpeachable get. The tough, vintage Rolex Submariner has subdued style, will only go up in value, and will look great on your grandson’s wrist. Tag Heuer’s Carrera boasts an automatic Swiss movement and has been a favorite of racecar drivers since 1964. The Timex Camper hasn’t gone out of style in 90 years; we bet it’s got at least 90 more. The Omega Speedmaster Professional has been on every manned NASA mission. Its manually wound movement and hesalite crystal date back even further, making this one of the most revered tools on planet Earth — and beyond.

If you’re a sunglasses purist, you’re probably already on the hunt for Vintage Persols like these 69262 aviators from the Eighties, top ($750, silverliningopticians.com). Style fiends seek out these 1960s to 1990s models for their unique, never-reissued design, hefty, hand-built-in-Italy quality, and mineral-glass lenses. The lenses aren’t polarized, though, so if you need modern sport glasses that perform, go with the Kaenon Burny, middle ($229, kaenon.com). They’re designed to be worn in the harshest of conditions, but they don’t suffer from the overaggressive wraparound style that’s been a plague on sport sunglasses. If you want to go classic, pick up the Randolph Engineering Crew Chief ($139, randolphusastore.com), traditional alloy-framed aviators that are lightweight but built to U.S. military and NASA specs, and have been around since Reagan was in office.

For the second season of Game of Thrones, HBO’s breakout fantasy epic, Kit Harington spent nearly a month filming on a glacier in Iceland. “I think the coldest day was minus 35 with windchill,” he says, “and there were 500-foot drops next to us all the time.” So for our spring fashion special — which features the 25-year-old actor — we chose a location out of harm’s way: A Manhattan studio that safeguarded Harington, photographer Jake Chessum, and today’s finest casual wear. To learn more about Harington, Game of Thrones, and our style essentials for 2012, pick up the March issue of Men’s Journal, on sale February 10.
